Thanks for choosing Beattie Children’s Dentistry!
Regardless of your child’s age, the first visit to a new dental office can be a bit scary. Don’t fret! You can help make that first visit a positive one!
There are a few steps that you can take to help ensure your child has the best experience possible while visiting Beattie Children’s Dentistry
- Make sure that the language used when talking to your child about their appointment is POSITIVE. Children do not like to hear words like “shot”, “needle”, “pull”, “drill”, “hurt” or “pain”. Avoiding these words (and others like them!) will help prevent unnecessary anxiety or apprehension.
- Your child will likely have questions about their upcoming appointment. Don’t worry if you aren’t comfortable answering them! We are more than happy to answer any and all questions that you or your child have!
- Please make sure that you fill out the “New Patient Questionnaire” package prior to arriving at your child’s appointment. This will speed up the process and allows for maximizing the time spent with our staff.
- Arrive a little bit early for your child’s appointment, if possible. This will allow your child the time to experience and comfortably adjust to our office environment, while playing in our children’s area. More often than not, a relaxed child makes for a better dental patient!
